I have some money to spare and I am looking for a new TV. I am not hip on the new technologies, or what is better. I have an armoire that will only house up to a 30" CRT type tv.

I would like something high def that will display 1080 and 720. CRT or LCD or whatever someone recommends. Prefer to buy it locally so I dont have to deal with shipping costs. Bestbuy, Circuit City, Target, HH Gregg, Meier are my available stores.

$600 spending budget.

Replacing a Panasonic Tau 27" non-hd tv

I GOT ONE!!

I got a Visio VX32L

havent hooked it up yet..but I am excited..it was $599 at Costco.. I signed up to be a member

Wally world had a good deal on a Sanyo HD Direct-view CRT set... I believe it was a little over 400$.

It will be a little over $600 with tax, but this is probably your best bet. Sam's Club and Sears also has this TV.

My local club has it for $510.11. After tax that comes out to ~$552. Too bad it doesn't have a QAM tuner, and you can't purchase with AMEX to double the warranty or I'd be all over it.

Is this a nation wide sale at Costco? I haven't been to Costco in ages, but I am actually planning to pickup this TV in a few weeks for a bedroom set. $510 is a lot better than $599

The Vizio site has Sears listed. I would call before I went though.

It should be around $599 at Sears too.

MicroCenter also has a lot of HD tvs so you can compare them side-by-side. They always seem to have sales on them as well. Since they are in the tri-county area all of the other major retailers are nearby as well.

Congrats!

I went by Sam's Club to look at this TV again today after I got my Spider-Man ticket. After a lot of debate I think I'm going to go ahead and pickup one in a few weeks. The set looks good and the price is right.

Let us know how the set does with HD and SD. I'll probably just do OTA for HD if I can get all the channels pretty reliable.

Huh? It does have a QAM tuner.

AVSForum has a pretty good thread on this set. Good SD performance from what I've seen with mine, though I'll be honest and say I don't watch SD much.
