Does this make sense? I just want it for it's QWERTY keyboard for texting. The features of calender, to do lists, and all that are fine. But I don't need to surf the web or sync the email via wireless.
Is this possible?

Yep.

You can opt for a data block, but you won't be able to get the "Advanced Device Discount" of $100.

Certainly possible as it uses Windows Mobile and doesn't need a special plan like the BB's do.

I went ahead and got it. Heck with that ADD plan, they almost pay you for it. (3 month minimum).

Make sure you call them and have a data block put on your account. I have heard some storys of people who swear they never used data but still incured charges.
