i want a long vacation!

im tired of how you can only manage to get like 1 or maybe 2 weeks of vacation at a time, and how its going to be like this for the next 40 years of my life! i want to get away for 2 or 3 months, do what i want!

That's the first thing I thought of when I read the OP's title. A lot of us have probably come awfully close to getting one of those types of vacations ...

This is what made me consider being a school teacher. What a life.

Instead I think I will just run my own practice some day and hopefully have some control over my hours.

My goal in life is to eventually be self employed, so I can do stuff like that. I just can't imagine having to work all my life. There's more to life than that. Though the job I have now is the best balance of work/life because of the shift work. I get tons of time off which is awesome. If I wanted to go away for a couple weeks I could probably arrange it if I wanted to.

If you don't do anything or go anywhere worthwhile, you don't see the need for long vacations. It will suck having nothing to do but to sit around all day.

However, if you do travel, 2 weeks is nothing

nobody ever gets to do that, unless they are from a foreign country and want to go back for a while
