I want a Harley Heritage Soft Tail Classic

OutHouse

Lifer
My bro-in-law came over last weekend to vist my wife and rode his new 06 HSTC. he let me take it for a ride while he visited with his sister and man i loved it. first time I had ever ridden a Harley and i must say i like the ride, feel and sound a whole lot. Now i want one but im hesitant because every single person i know who has a motorcycle has been hurt in a accident. hell 2 years ago on July 3rd our neighbors wife pulled out infront of a motocycle and killed the dude when he impacted the drivers door. So im on the fence, do i get one next spring to enjoy the ride, and get in a accident and be feed through a tube the rest of my life? or do i not get one and live a happy life to old age?

Buy one in winter, you'll get a better deal.

But Harley's aren't ever cheap.

I know how you feel though, I bought my bike over a year ago, still love it though.

ya i know i stopped by a harley dealer on the way home last night and a brand new 07 HSTC is about 17K. a used one that is just a bit more decked out from the previous owners were going for about 12-14K and thats from 02-04.

You always want what you don't have.

Once you drop $18,000 on one, you will ride it ~10 times a year and pay massive insurance on it.

Your possessions end up possessing you.

That's why Harley's aren't anywhere on my bike wishlist. Too expensive.

I've owned two softails, a 1994 Heritage and a 1993 Fat Boy. The ride on those bikes aren't that great for anything other than around the town and cruising.

The last Harley I owned was the sweetest. It was a 1989 FLHS, which is an Electra Glide Sport, which was really the precursor to the Road King. It rode so nice because of the rubber mounted engine, an actual working rear suspension, and air ride in the front and back.

If you're serious about a Harley, look at the Road King. Your ass will thank you on longer road trips.

I'm seriously considering a Sportster 1200C right now. I might make it mine in the next few weeks.

do it

i'm about to do an 883--->1250 conversion on mine...may put an s&s carb and single fire ignition on there too

the drive belt is starting to slip, so i figure i might as well do it up right if i have to put it in the shop 😀

Nice! How many miles do you have on yours? How long have you owned it?
