I want a handgun

I really like the Beretta 92FS in INOX stainless steel..... I also was thinking about either a 9mm or .45 S&W, but not sure.... I like the 92FS A LOT!! I would like to keep it under $800, meaning that a Desert Eagle or even a Kimber are probably out of my price range.

The other question is.... How the fvck can I get my parents to agree to let me have a gun in _their_ house??? They both do not want me to have a handgun, yet have no problem with my dad having oodles of them for no reason..... I have tried talking to them about it, but it's like they don't give a sh*t about it... Any sites I can find information on with statistics like whether a person taught to responsibly use a handgun is more or less likely to commit a violent crime using a handgun?

Thanks everyone for your help! I was also wondering if I go on AuctionArms.com and buy one through there, I would have to have someone else buy it and then resell it to me because I am only 20(EDIT) and cannot purchase from an FFL dealer (Michigan). What is the process for that, and would my dad or whoever need to fill out the paperwork before I bid on the item?

Thanks!

Jesse

(Edit, I am 20, you have to be 21 to buy FFL)

Ahhh, first of all, I assume you're only a year or two away from being able to purchase a handgun, so why not wait and buy one legally than obtaining one illegally or immorally? Also, if you live with your parents and it's really against their wishes for you to own a handgun, why bother? There's much more to do in life than shooting, might as well respect your parents' wishes and find something else to do. My thoughts.

You have got to be kidding me.

You want to have a handgun when you're under the legal age (illegal), have a straw purchaser (illegal), and bring it into your parents home without their permission (illegal).

Do us a favor, buy one off of the street and off yourself with it. You give all gun owners a bad name. Obviously you're way too immature to own a handgun.

a 92fs retails for about $1250-1300. You can operate a single-shot rifle under the age of 18, but other than that it is illegal.

If you're not mature enough to move out on your own then you shouldn't be allowed to have a firearm.

In Michigan, you only have to be 18 to apply for a handgun permit, and purchase a handgun.

However,

1. A person who is eighteen or older, but under 21, may purchase a handgun, but not from a federally licensed dealer who is prohibited from selling a handgun to anyone younger than 21.

From here: http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/StateLaws.aspx?ST=MI

So if he is 21, he can buy it from anyone he wants. So obviously he's lying about his age. Either that, or he has no idea about the actual gun laws in his area, in which case he shouldn't be owning a handgun anyway.

If you're living with your parents and they don't want you to have one then why pursue it? Either get your own place or don't get a gun. Are you planning on carrying it or just having it?

If you are 21, then what are you talking about? Moreso, what are you doing still living at home?

I am still living at home so I can save up to buy a house.....

Renting is throwing away money because you cannot sell your apt after you pay all that money for it

for you to even mention a desert eagle tells me you don't know wtf you're doing and would be better off getting a .22 and taking a firearms safety course. after you're 21.

btw you realize it is a FELONY for someone to sell a handgun to a minor.

Lame excuse. Even if you're renting you're learning valuable skills such as being independent, budgeting money, and responsibility (esp with regards to paying bills). You clearly didn't go to college so missed that chance to grow up. You're prolonging another chance.
