I want a Golden Retriever

My mom has a golden retriever and I've always loved them. Once I find a home for this mutt my ex-gf wanted I'm going to get me one. Either that or a German shorthaired pointer.
 
My wife and I bought a golden retriever pup about 8 months ago -- she's absolutely wonderful and a great dog. Great temperament, smart, friendly. My wife just gets mad 'cause the dog seems to listen to me more than she does my wife. 😉

Golden Retrievers are great dogs, and I have no problems reccomending them.

However, I like German Shepherds better 🙂
 
Golden's are great!! When my kids were in daycare the caregiver had a female golden. That dog would lay there with half a dozen little kids crawling all over her, petting her, etc... and wouldn't flinch. Great dog to have with kids.

we're you using the flash when you took the photo? I used the flash on my dog and he did the same thing.

Yeah. I was taking a bunch of pictures in rapid succession and he was guessing when to close his eyes to avoid the flash. I even pretended like I was going to take a picture a few times and he closed his eyse 😀
 
Goldens are amazing dogs and reasonably smart for a dog any my personal favorite type of dog. Border Collies on the other hand are too smart for their own damn good. Labs, while usually good dogs, are dumb as nails.

I'd like to have a border collie but I live in an apartment and it would go nuts. Are golden retrievers good for an apartment? I plan on taking him out everyday to go to the park for a walk.
