I want a doggy

Are there any dogs that are intelligent and obedient and do not have a lot of fur? I want it to be as easy to take care of at home for my parents.

You want a dog but you want it to be easy for your parents to take care of? I suggest you wait until you are at a point in your life where you can make the 10-15 year commitment to take care of a dog before getting one.

well, my parents live close to me and i'll be home a few times a week...i'm not allowed to keep a dog in my apt but next year i will be able to. I want to keep the dog at my parents house until then

Are you wanting a large or small dog? Inside or out? Big dogs are fun to play with, but they will wreck your yard.

My advice would be to wait until you are able to have it live with you. That way when you get the dog you will be the one it socializes and bonds with. If I were you when I was ready to get one I would go to a shelter or adoption event in your area. They always have plenty of dogs and cats looking for homes and I bet you will know pretty quickly which one is "your" dog.

Get a cat.

Ya, I thought I wanted a dog at once and when I eventually got one I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Now the gf and I have Pounce, the furball I found behind a lumber store that was left by his mother. It's nice not having to let him out to crap and pee.

That's not true... I have a big dog and he hasn't done any damage to my yard at all.

OP: I would wait until you are out on your own if you really want a dog. If you are getting a puppy, the first year is very formative, and you want to be around the whole time.

Facts about dogs:

1) They eat.
2) They piss.
3) They sh1t.
4) They will love you forever and lay down their lives for you, if you earn it.

That's all you really need to know. Well that, and the fact that that red thing is perfectly normal - but don't stare. 😉
