I want a DIY fan filter tutorial

idea

Can I make one with window screen patches? The squares are kind of big, maybe put one over the other? How about those face mask filters? Although those aren't washable...

If you're serious about filters, about keeping the dust out.......you have to go alot further than the standard computer filters and forget panty hose as a filter material. I tried a bunch of different filters, but found lawn mower filters work the best and are cheaper than hepa filters, which also work well. All the others let in dust....aren't worth bothering with. Here's a few I tried..

Computer Filters

I used velcro to mount my filters to my fans. I mount my fans with screws then I bought square aluminum mesh filters and put velcro around the boarders of the filters and around the boarders of the fan. When you clean them all you have to do is peal them off and then push them back on after your done. Works great.

I use some thin AC filter material that I buy at Home Depot for like 2 bux for a huge sheet. Cut it myself and replace it every month or so. I have almost no dust inside my cases, which is worth the money and scissor time.
