I have a '98 Civic that'd I'll probably sell/trade-in for a 240SX if I really really decide to get one..

Questions are, what's the best year/trim for them? I'd like something from '95+ though.

1995 :D.
I don't think there is any significant trim difference. Someone on this board has a 1997 I think, and the interior looks identical to mine's, except mine is leather. I believe the only option package is SE, which puts anti roll bars on the front and back, spoiler, front lip, foglights, and I think only comes with manual.
For the love of God, don't get an auto.

They stopped making them in 98. I'm contemplating one, but I want a 98, 97 at the oldest. I want a car that doesn't have too many miles on it.

I like the look of the 91-93 or so years. I think the hatch looked much nicer than the coupes.

Get a 97-98 model. Also get a SE. I like the 97-98 model for it has the nicer headlights that make the 240 look ANGRY!!

95-98 had base , SE, and LE trims. SE and LE had 5 lug, power accessories standard, and leather options. Power was the same on all models. The thing you want to look for is the ABS/LSD package. Personally I think the 89-93 240sx hatch models are the best looking.

I'm personally looking for a 97-98 SE/LE with stick and ABS/LSD options since my previous car got totalled, they are hard as hell to find.

I think the 89-93 240sx was ugly. The 1995+ is sleek and simple, uncluttered. I would prefer to have a hatchback on my 1995 though.. much more utility.

I'd definately get a manual.. :D

So far, it seems like I could do a straight up trade for one with my current car. Insurance would be more though for the 240SX..

91 240SX is supposedly the easiest to do an SR20DET engine swap with because it's got holes in the frame for that engine already....
