I never got a speeding ticket. but there were two people got speeding tickets while driving my car.
one was 78/65 on NY I-390
the other one was 80/65 on NY I-90

I once got out of a speeding ticket while doing over 130mph in my 65 Ford Falcon on an empty freeway. It took a few minutes for the cop to catch up to me and you should have seen the look on his face, puzzled. He asked me why he should not arrest me and impound my cat on the spot, I told him "because I have a 5 speed". He chuckled, we talked cars a little and as luck would have it, he was a gearhead. After talking cars and what mods were done to my car, he actualy let me go.
I got my first speeding ticket in 27 years, just a few weeks ago. I thought I was in a 45mph zone, and it was 35. I was going 47!
I have no argument. I did it, so I am going to court on the 21st of next month, tell the judge what I did, pay my fine, and request traffic safety, so I can keep it off my DMV record.

'Sup, new yawka?? I recognize those highway numbers! Did my growing up outside Rochester (to the west), and grew up driving those highways.
Worst ticket I could have ever got?? Easily, 110 in a 55.......but luckily, the cop was only up to clocking me doing 70, when he lost sight of me, and by the time he saw me again, I was down below 60 again!! He pulled me over, and asked me where the fire was......then asked if I knew how fast I was going??
My reply? I asked him if HE knew how fast I was going!!
He ended up writing that ticket for 70+ in a 55. And that was in the days BEFORE I bought my Camaro!! :laugh:

I got a 74 in 45 in NYC this past summer. It was on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway just before the Verazano Bridge. Right there, the speed limit drops from 50 to 45 and the cops had set up a traffic monitoring area for the July 4th weekend. Though, the road was dry and very light traffic, so it wasn't an unsafe speed.
Edit: My dad had been surprised that I was actually able to be going that fast on the BQE since it is always jammed up.

I have gotten pulled over for 35 in a 20 on a local road and 80 in a 55 on I-94. Beat the first one in court and got a warning for the second one.
Rochestah - I'm around there. I-90 is oppressively patrolled. I haven't seen too too many on 390 (north of the thruway). NY is pretty anal about speeding, which is extremely annoying. That's why I bought my radar detector, so I can travel safe speeds, above the limit without too much worry of cops busting me.
I've had 3 tickets. What was odd was when I was over by the least amount, I was given the highest priced ticket. Do not speed in Wisconsin. For the love of God, their fines are unfreakinbelievable.
I think I did pretty good. I drove a vehicle without a speedometer for nearly 3 years with only 1 speeding ticket during that stretch.

Wife got a 91/60 in South Carolina ($375 ticket). She went to court and they knocked it down to 74/60 ($125 ticket).
2002: 55/40
2002: 48/30
2003: "impeding traffic"
2004: 80/65
2005: Can't remember
However, my record is still 100% clean thanks to ticketassassin.com

105 in a 75 (MPH) on I-10 West near Quartzite, AZ, right before the California border.
Talked the cop down to 90 (First Offense, basically said I don't want to go to court, you don't want to go to court, if you reduce it to a civil rather than criminal matter, then I can just go to traffic school and it's dropped).
Not on my record... it did not occur as far as any records or insurance info is concerned.

I got stopped in South Carolina doing 78 in a 55. By that time i had done drove from the evening before, 22hrs straight and i didnt even try to talk myself out of the ticket.
I tried calling the DA when i got home a few days later but was never able to get anything done about it.
I sent the $165 in the mail a few months later. It made my insurance go up $15/month :frown:
That is the only ticket i've received so far. Hopefully the last!
