becareful what you ask for. Living in new york (manhattan actualy), is unbelievably expensive. My rent for a studio aparment (ie, one room) + food for a month works out to over $2000 a month easy. Plus, if you have a car, forget about brining it here.

It's a great place to live, but it will cost you.

Live in NJ, there are lots of pharcutial companies there, and it's not far to NYC. And NYCmight be one of the few places more expensive to live then NJ anyway.

yeah i know all about living in NYC...grew up just north of it and have lotsa friends there...

its just frustrating, cause there is a perfect oportunity there for me, if I could just get into contact with someone, but i've spent a week emailing different people and calling and cant get anyone to answer their phone or return an email, except for 1 person i know there, but she isnt in the research part of things so she can do is get me more people to try

NYC is beginning to suck. The Mayor and the Governor are really giving it to us in the ass. Bloomberg unfortunately gets blamed for everything (like every other previous mayor), but he's giving it to us straight. Pataki is a the real prick. He's against electronic Lottery machines (similar to slot machines) to bring in revenue, but he's willing to raise sales tax in NYC to 10%.

The power has gone to his head, its too bad there were no better candidates running against him. I'm sure NY State could come up with a load of money if he didn't use the private jet every weekend (more than any governor in the country). The Federal Government gives money to NYC for security and right away Pataki has to stick his hand in. WTF does he need it for? Is a terrorist going to try and harm millions in Manhattan or is he going to blow up the Catskills...

really? Out of curiosity, where you north of NYC in NY or CT? I grew up just across the border in CT and moved here after college (graduated in '01).
