but is there anything I should know first? If local channels arent offered in my area (and they arent) is it that much of a hassle to get them another way? Im looking into a 3room package with sony rcvrs. Will I be able to install it myself and do I have to have EVERY rcvr hooked to a phone line? I appreciate any input from owners and educated peeps of the like.

every receiver need to be on the same phone line
this is how DTV knows that the receivers are at the same house
you should be able to install it yourself
use good wire RG6 and get a good crimper
you'll need a dual LNB dish and a switch. i think its called a 2x4. it takes signals from dual LNB and splits it into 4 receivers
the 2 additional receivers are $5 ea per month
i don't have any advice on locals as i can get those

The 3 room package im looking into has the dual lnb and a 3x4 switch along with 3 rcvrs. all the calbes and what not I supposedly will need. I dont have a phone line in ever place I want a rcvr tho.
