Anyone here notice that Trump pal Vince McMahon took the WWE overseas for a Saudi propaganda tour???
I had no idea this even happened until I read this on Deadspin:
https://deadspin.com/wwe-s-saudi-arabia-event-created-a-big-mess-1825688090
This must be Trump's version of a State Department diplomatic mission. How is this any worse than if Rodman got the NBA to play exhibition matches in North Korea? Did Middle America forget where the 9/11 bombers came from, or have they been Alex Jonesed into believing it was an inside job???
Some highlights:
- WWE and Saudi Arabia strike 10 year deal
- During 5 hour Royal Rumble in Riyadh event, announcers kept praising Saudi Crown Prince MBS.
- No women allowed to appear at the event (but good on WWE for paying them anyway)
- Iranian-*American* wrestlers waved an Iranian flag before getting beat up by Saudi prospects in a staged bit of propaganda. One has since received death threats from offended Iranians.
- Syrian-Canadian wrestler maybe withheld from event for sponsoring charity work in Syria.
- Random sumo wrestler introduced to please MBS, who requested Yokozuna without realizing he's dead
All I know is that when we get a normal administration back in the White House, I better not hear any grief about "apology tours" or what not. We should be exporting the best of America, not the worst--and especially not to appease oppressive regimes.
