more or less.. (same with Creed... i cant listen to one of thier songs without picturing Stapp's ugly mug and vomiting on myself)

although, i think "crawling in the dark" i still going to be one of my favorite songs becuase its in the mountain dew commercial. and i like Mt. dew.

And that's why the music industry is the way it is. They just churn out cookie cutter bands with new imagers instead of better/more diversified music. Luckly enough, everyonce and a while, we'll get a really good artists that rocks the way we percieve music.

like almost every band to make it big in the past 5 or 6 years. off the top of my head, i cant think of one recent band that is actually going to withstand the tests of time and be remembered 40 years from now.

LOL

what do you mean?
You base your opinion of people on looks, and you base the musical talent of somebody on looks.
Other than that, nothing.

i didnt question their musical talent.. they're still my favorite new band. I just pictured some cool hardcore rocker dude when i heard their songs.. not some panzified incubus singer look alike..

all these singers are just trying so hard to project some retard image when they wear these dumb clothes and have dumb hairstyles...

i like it when people just be themselves and dont try to project a certain image.

its should be about the music, not the videos.. but think about it-- how many cd's would britney spears have sold, or N'sync, or shakira, or anybody like that have sold if it wasnt for MTV.
ZERO.

i'm watching MMusa right now, and Trust company's video is on. Another great new band. THe lead singer is just you're average guy next door.. jeans and a t-shirt. he's not trying to stand out or do anything weird.. he's just being himselve, enjoying the music. More people need to be like that.

Who the fsck cares what the singer looks like except little girls interested in boy bands?

Maybe you should stick with backstreet boys... 😉

i like that band, they've got quite a few pretty good songs, though the two mentioned are the best so far.......and mt dew is pretty good

I can't believe they are putting these guys on tour with Korn and Disturbed. It isn't metal at all. Not that I don't like them, the CD would be good if the lead singer's high pitched whining didn't sound like a girl most of the time 🙂 BTW Scott Stap's face annoys the hell out of me for some reason...

there are some really weird bands touring together right now.. cant remember them all off the top of my head right now though. but you are right, they shouldtn be on tour with korn and disturbed... slip knot should be touring with them instead.

yep, thats him.
panzified incubus singer look alike..
from my earlier post 😉

there are some decent new bands.. but yeah, for the most part, all the great ones stopped coming out in the mid 90's

yea right....if they had any ounce of talent... (and yes, even I will give Britney some props for decent vocal skill) they would sell their record through word of mouth like things used to be back in the day. (Granted I'm not that old, I do know a thing or two about music and history of...IMHO)

What makes you think that this isn't just this guy's M.O. just like Britney's belly button ring or Creed's singer's "I'll thrust my hands to the air every 4 scenes and look really pained". It's all just hype to buy their crap. You know that song, video killed the radio star. I'm feeling that right now, especially.

one of the main reason's i'm glad thier is so much non-mainstream music (like most of punk / ska) out there... becuase they havent been currupted by the money.

Every time a band changes their sound they have "sold out". Punk/ska? IMO one of the most stale and talentless genres today, even pop has some decent new artists. Its all in your opinion and musical tastes, of course the era of Nirvana has ended, but for fans of the so called "nu-metal" genre like me there are more releases that I want to buy then ever before.

its not about selling out-- becuase my 3 favorite bands of all time are popular mianstream ones (green day, STP, and RATM).. its just when the musicians start making music to appeal to the crowd so that they sell more records, it looses something.

artists without a major label just make music for the sake of getting to hear themselves play. (for the most part)
