It's funny someone brought this up. I use vaseline in my hair and it works very well. I've noticed with regular hair gel that it drys up reallly really quickly and loses it's hold (it also gets f*cked up in the rain). I started using vaseline and it's great. I use a tiny fraction of vaseline than i would with normal hair gel and it still holds up all day long, unlike hair gel. Plus my scalp doesn't get so #*$&#($ing dried out by the gel because vaseline is oil ya know?

Anyone else do this or use something unconventional for hair gel?

It seems like it'd be hell on earth to try and wash it out every night.

Do you have acne on your head now? I don't think it'd allow your scalp to breathe well.

I thought this was a parody. for being more mature than half the members here.

I know some people who do/did, but I never have myself.

You know, there are repliable products designed for your hair that will hold a style and not dry out.

Nope, the shampoo disolves it easily. Kinda like how soap leaves my face dry as a desert because it demolishes all my facial oil.

I use wax, pomade, and gum fiber - can't be any worse I guess......

Like? This vasline stuff works really really well for my hair :) I use just a dab of vaseline, whereas, i have to glop on tons of hair gel and even still, it doesn't last as long as vasline.

Plus it doesn't dry my scalp :)

I use pomade. The stuff made for creating those waves when you wear a durag... except, I don't have durags, and I shape it up like an ashtray...

OMG PIC

edit - I think I'm pretty hot for a geek :p

completely ordorless (which is another advantage that vasline has over hair gel). When i used to use hair gel, you could smell it a mile away.
