it wont turn on. it powered on, and died before anything could even show up on the screen. the motherboard led is lit though. i dont know much about this stuff, im guessing it is the PS? can it be anything other then the PS? MB maybe? i just got this PS about 2 years ago and paid 100$ for it. #$%#@$@#

Actually, it could be a defective thermal sensor. I had that problem once where as soon as I turned on the PC, it "thought" it was running real hot. If this is the problem, the POSTing usually tells you it shut down due to a thermal issue, but if you only have 2 secs, that may not be enough time to see that.

it booted for the 2 secs first, now it wont even do anything. the fans wont even spin.

Try to unplug all the Hard drive, DVDrom, graphic card and also RAM.

When you start your computer, if there is no beep from the motherboard, that mean your PSU is dead.

If it does Beep, that mean your one of the component(CPU , graphic card or ram) is dead.

Next, look at the motherboard manual. Look at what those beep mean.

Next, insert the Graphic card and RAM and run the computer and see how many beeps and refer it to the manual.

You will find out what's wrong with your computer without renting the parts from someone 🙂

It can also mean your motherboard is dead.

The percentage of a motherboard to die is too slime. Try to smell if the burn come from Motherboard, look for any sign of melt on the motherboard. If u don't see that.

Big possibility is your PSU.
