'Cause that thread doesn't exist on the VB forums? It appears to be a leftover from the old Fusetalk forums.

Yeah, well, I've saved links in my data to useful/interesting/crucial threads. They don't work any more???? Why not? :\

Edit: How did you find that thread from what I pasted in there?

I think Fusetalk used a different numbering system for identifying threads and posts than the current forum system, vBulletin. Links in the forum got converted automatically, but links you saved from earlier might not work.

I found the thread you were referring to using Google and the URL you posted. Luckily Google has stuff cached from other forums and old threads.

Holy snap, Batman, lucky Google keeps that stuff. It's a bummer to have to use a Google search to turn up those threads, I have dozens and dozens and dozens of saved URLs to threads at Anandtech. :\

They really should have set up a linking mechanism so people could use the old URLs to find those threads. Not doing so is criminally negligent. OK, I'm a database programmer, to me it's trivial to do something like that. I guess the people at Google did the Anandtech people's job on this one.
