So I had my iphone replaced under applecare. My original i5 was unlocked, I tried for 3 days, they would not unlock my replacement phone.

I just pay 20 bucks off some site and hopefully it'll get it unlocked

Last request came back with

Faxed or emailed documentation is ineligible or not received.

They never ask for this.. i just hate dealing with them.

So if your iphone is unlocked and you need to get it replaced under applecare, be prepare to go through the unlocking process again.

Yes I'm still in contract, but they unlock phones before when I was still in contract.

When Apple replaces your phone, they enter the old IMEI in the system, if it comes up as unlocked, they give you an unlocked device. You should go back to the Apple store and ask why they gave you a locked device.
