I live in Tennessee.... When I want to ski or snowboard, I have to head to North Carolina or West Virginia and the slopes usually consist of solid ice covered by a light dusting of granular ice chips...really bad for boarding because attempts at turning constantly cause my board to catch an edge. Not fun when you hit the base there either since it's solid as asphalt. I went to Salt Lake City all this week and decided to head up to Snowbird....I'm definitely going back. I can't wait until next season...I'm gonna try to get up there for a week straight.

--link removed-- These are pics of me on my Burton Cascade "73" :D They were taken on the bunny slope cause I didn't want to worry about my camera on the real trails... ;)

Yep, Utah has some of the best snow on earth. I go out to Deer Valley (near Park City) a few times a year and am spoiled too :)

I've heard Deer Valley is for all the rich yuppy types. And they don't allow snowboards. :(

That's OK. I don't snowboard. But my nephews do, and I just take them over to Park City.

And Deer Valley may cater to a more upscale crowd, but it's not nearly as pretentious as Vail or Aspen. It's very laid back and understated. That's why my bpother bought his vacation house there, over many other places.
