But the Red Cross lady here at work said it was taking too long! So she pulled the needle. First of all, it took forever to find my vein (three techs and both arms). Then she told me was going to take about 20 minutes fill a pint. 20 minutes? Sheesh! I was sitting there, with needle in my arm for almost ten minutes and hadn'y filled half the bag yet! I've had this problem my whole life. I don't have low blood pressure or anything like that. She said it was because of my muscles. I don't even work out! At least I know I it would take a hella long time to bleed to death. :)

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yeah, my school was having a blood drive and I'm O+. It took about forty-five minutes to fill up one of those bags and it always takes them forever to find a vein. They didn't bitch at me much though because Arizona has a huge blood shortage.

My girlfriend would break up with me if my blood didn't flow as fast as it does.... (If you know what I mean)

lol, that sucks....but props for at least going and trying to donate. I have a very good and low blood pressure level, and yet when I go to donate, I fill that sucker up like someone's lining up at the gas station. :)

Yah! And make some bucks, too. With the loss of blood, you'd be a cheap drunk!

I've only given once because I was running the blood drive, my bp is a bit low, and so is my pulse (doc says he isn't worried due to swimming) but I was weak for like 3 days afterwards, I was only 117lbs at the time (middle of swim season, I couldn't eat enough to keep from losing weight) but it took me like 30-45 min to fill the bag, they didn't pull it out tho lol. I haven't given since, I kinda feel bad they keep sending me letters asking for blood (O-) but I can't very well feel week for 3 days afterwards...

You guys suck at giving blood. My best time is 4 minutes, while a friend did 2 minutes on the same day. Longest I've ever taken has been 10 minutes.
