I Touch It...and it Reboots

I just put my roomie's computer into a new case, and after it's completely booted and is sitting a bit if anyone touches the case it reboots. I'm guessing that it's a static thing but can't figure out how to fix it. He's on an anti-static mat but the problem persists.

There are those little plastic risers that came with the case and appear to be motherboard risers. I've got the motherboard screwed into the brass risers, but do I need to do something with these plastic feet too? What can I do to properly ground the thing to make it stop doing this?

And why will it only do it once completely booted? Is it possibly a USB issue?

Thanks.

There is a short somewhere on the computer. I had this problem a long time ago. It ended up being a USB cable for the built-in ports on my case. Its gonna suck. But the best way to figure it out is to slowly and methodically unplug things.

Check to make sure there is not an extra brass riser somewhere it's not supposed to be or even a screw caught between the motherboard and case.

I'm sorry that I have nothing constructive to add over and above what has already been said, but I find your situation hilarious. LOL. Touch a case and it reboots.

Talk about a major bummer - it's like an anti-social PC!

The one time I encountered this, it was a flaky power supply at fault. It could also be a short elsewhere like under the mobo.

hey that's a feature that some people would pay for.......no more pesky buttons.....does it turn on when you touch it again??
