I've run credit apps on UPS drivers. They make around $70k/yr. :Q
Not a bad gig if you ask me. I imagine you have to put a few years in to see that kind of money but still...

Just make sure to completely destroy 2 packages a day so they will have to repackage it. Then you have to meet the quota of 10 (pref. much more than 10) packages that must be really banged up, but not destroyed.
Also make sure to route some packages wrong so they take an extra day for delivery.

I used to load semi trucks for them

Its hard work, WILL will build muscle/lose weight. Its very dirty/dusty in the trucks-to the point where you'll blow your nose when you get home and the snot will be black. In the SoCal summer the truck would be 100+ F. Buy good work gloves and boots; bring a gallon of water. Don't forget you UPS ID card, they won't let you inside. The first week of training is watching videos and learning paperwork-its a free check basically.

Its a good first "real" job if you are finishing HS, or going to a junior college; it motivates you to do well in school so you don't have to do this the rest of your life. Don't worry about the interview... You can read?!?! You're hired! Turnover for the phyiscal labor jobs is high-I lasted 6 months. FYI, be *very* mindful of your vertical surroundings. I almost got hit by a 35 lb box of magazines falling from 20 feet overhead.

Do not get suckered into being a "Primary Loader" (IIRC). That was my job that I described. You want to sort (hard to get) or unload (only a few spots normally). Loading the brown delivery trucks didn't seem bad, neither did Air freight.

Sadly, im already to small where if i loose weight ill look like a ethiopian. Gaining weight and muscle would own though "big grin" My uncle started there when he was younger and now he still works there (25+ years later). They ship him around the world now on computer jobs for UPS. (around the world.. one time they flew him to china for computer work.) He gets paid pretty damn good if you ask me. Hopefully, i can hold on to the job and not be another statistics of ups.

I think you've got one great job lined up. Great pay and benefits. You'll be making more than many, many college grads.

Stick it out. You could do a whole lot worse.

I use to work for UPS as a loader while in college. The first 2 weeks are going to be tough on your body. If you pass the first 2 weeks you going to be OK. Keep that in mind and Good luck.

If you want to bulk up while doing the work remember to eat A LOT, and drink plenty. I do mean eat a lot. You're going to be using a lot of calories doing that work, and you still need a surplus to gain weight.

he will not be driving. you have to pay your dues for a long time before you get the keys to a truck. he'll be making close to minimum wage for picking up heavy boxes all day.

you'll definately be sore after the first few days.
I sorted about 35000 packages a week

Feel free to ask any questions. I've worked my way up from a package handler to IT management, so maybe I can answer few questions for you.

P.S. Don't listen to the idiots and don't try to damage any packages intentionally. UPS has a zero tolerance policy for crap like that.
