Bush hopes they help along with the UN. The irrelevent UN will come in quite handy for helping with the costs of occupation. This war's version of Operation Tin Cup.

Although he declined to give details on the possible shape of French participation, Levitte said, "We have equipment to fight in these circumstances."

What? Anthrax-resistant white flags?

You'd prefer we handle it all alone? Then you'd call us imperialists. LOL. As Americans, we just can't win can we?

What I expect is that when the Occupation starts, many countries who decided it was that war was not the way will come in and help. Once the war is over, we want many nations in on this to reduce the fallout politically and economically

Nah we can handle the oil fields on our own. Wouldn't want that pantywaist Chirac to get his highheels bogged down in all the sand.

"If Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) were to use chemical and biological weapons, this would change the situation completely and immediately for the French government," Jean-David Levitte told CNN.
LOL...As the Worm Turns... 😛

I guess the French are *finally* starting to realize that deep-sixing the UNSC, and with it their last significant scrap of global influence, was not the brightest idea.

How kind of the French to offer their support in the eventuality that Iraq uses WMD. I saw on CNN a few minutes ago that Colin Powell says 15 countries have offered their support/backing to the U.S since last night's ultimatum. It didn't say what countries.

I love French logic, if we get attacked with WMDs that Iraq, which according to them, doesn't have, they will help. Hmm....

That's exactly what I was thinking.
