4 Year Old Gateway Trinitron 19" Flat

Turned it on today and it took a damn long time for it to even start to show anything on the screen, once it did, the text was all fuzzy and out of focus.

I degaussed it and it fixed it a little, but its still kinda blurry right now and the colors seem to be faded....

Pretty sure its not the video card as its a brand new Radeon 9700 and the second monitor looks fine... Im gonna switch the two of them just to make sure...

Is she dyin?

Fix your "H" key on your keyboard, while you're at it. ;)

maybe a new shiny lcd?

*shrug*

With the prices of LCDs coming down so much, the prices of CRTs have plummetted. You can get a nice 19" flatscreen CRT for under $300...something to think about.

I've gamed on my friends' 19-inch Dell FP...it's not that great.

Now, for surfing and doing spreadsheets, it rocks...but think about the poor games!

Weak CRT cathodes... sony uses the IK blanking circuit which blanks out the picure if your cathode current (brightness) drops below a certain point...

Time for a new monitor!

This gateway 17" monitor has been going for over 6 years. It's a rebadged MAG, can't have too much more life in it.
