My daughter and I just went to the mall and bought a few fish for the saltwater tank.
I floated them and let them out of the bag. Somewhere between freeing them and getting the bag out of the tank, one of those little bastages swam back in the bag.
I fed them and was looking for the little guy. When I couldn't see him I figured he was hiding. The other two fish were so mellow, I thought it was odd the little guy was scared.
For shyts, I checked the garbage and sure enough, there he was still in the plastic bag.
After administering CPR and life saving breaths, I'm glad to say he's okay.

Cliff Notes:
1.) Got some fish.
2.) I fvcked up.
3.) ?
4.) Profit!

I think he kind of enjoyed it. He's swimming in circles of joy and he hardly ever bumps into anything. One eyeball is kinds twitchy but I'm sure that'll straighten out.

I accidentally flushed my fish down a toilet once since I thought it was dead... It wasn't moving, so I was like "oh, it's a cheap stupid carnival goldfish, it must have died already"...

Probably 5 minutes or so. He was in the corner of the bag sucking on the last couple drops of water for dear life. It was a pretty pathetic sight.
Fish don't have a very big brain, so the oxygen deprivation damage can't be that severe.
He kinda looks like this now.
