Or did the phoenix rise from its ashes?

I saw a webvan van on the freeway this evening. What caught me was its symbol. I came up closer to get a better look.

I loved that site. I used to use that a lot. That and Kozmo.. damn I miss those sites..they were the best aspect of the internet.

It's an ex-parrot, someone must have bought the van at auction.

It's too bad Webvan & Kozmo didn't try charging closer to their cost (and keeping their costs down)instead of hoping for huge volumes to mkae things right. There's been many times I'd have been willing to pay an extra $10 to have some milk, OJ, & ben & jerrys delivered in under an hour while I keep working.

I thought their prices were at or below cost.. and reasonable.. a little bit more and I wouldnt have minded it still. I bought so many cd's and stuff from them while i was at work and had them delivered at work cause i was too bored to do anything.

Luckily I live in Los Angeles and I can get www.Albertsons.com to home delivery groceries.. :)

These WebVan guys at the top (corporate level) sure knew how to burn through a few hundred millions in a year!

And people wondered why the .com business model failed. Because you hired execs that knew how to spend other peoples' money!

I meant they didn't charge enough to cover the delivery itself -- I was glad when albertsons started charging the extra $10 since it might mean they make enough (or lose little enough) that they keep offering the service.
