i thought Invisionboard was free?

You heard wrong. I currently have two forums and I use the latest phpbb 2.0.8. I haven't had any problems with it. One of my hosts installs phpbb for me, all I had to do on the setup was enter my user/pass. After that, I setup all the categories and forums. It's much easier than setting up vBulletin or UBB. 🙂

InvisionPowerBoard is still FREE, they just renamed it as a "trial" version. It has confused a lot of people.

PlanetHzl.com forums has been using the "trial" (AKA FREE) version for over 1 year now.
 
I've been using phpbb forums (see my link) for over two years now and am very happy with them. Version 2.2 is expected to be finished before 2005 and will have a bunch of nice new features and still be free. 🙂

You using fantastico or something? I prefer to install manually.
 
Heres the story.

the "free" version is everything the "pay" version is minus the support and allowance to remove copyrights, etc.

Other than that, NO difference. Its "free" no strings attached. Invisionboard is BY FAR the best. Atleast it will take the complete crown when 2.0 is out 🙂

thats what i thought. last time i gave it a try, it was advertised as being free. i visited their site last night and was shock to see that it's called a trial version. i just wanted to be sure. but yes, i like IB better than PHPBB.

Dang. I can't believe that the only two sentences that you used in your title and body have hugely incorrect usage of a question mark. Please go slap your old 3rd grade teacher and pick up an elementary school grammar book.

lots of people say everything ending a question? i think it comes SoCal girls? they always end everything sentance in a question? it makes them sound really clueless? and unsure of themselves? which they are?
