I have been doing some testing with this motherboard for 3 years now.

I have come up with the following conclusion for anyone intrested, or who might have this board already.

There is an apparent design flaw with the CPU and the heat transfer on the lower left side where the main CPU capacitors are located. The heat from the CPU flows from under the caseing, right on the glue that is holding the capacitor in place. What happens then is that heat builds up in the capacitor, making them bluge at the top. The capacitor then blows itself out, no noise, just over time will do this. I can not say off hand how long it takes before it melts itself down, but generally speaking, it was about a year for me, and a year+ for some people i knew.

Just to give people a heads up on it, even though its old technology.

I've heard about that before.
Something must have been similar on the MSI K7T Turbo original boards that liked to die after 8 months.
My friend has a KA7 from god knows how long ago that is still chugging. :)

Oh yes, I'll never forget my Ka7...... but I sure would like to. What a pain in the behind that board was. I paid premium dollar for a Geforce 2 gts because the salesman told me it was the one video card that had no compatability issues with amd boards. Came to find out in a real hurry about the cold boot issue that board had with the Geforce2 card. After struggling to get it stable, I finally had to throw in the towel.
