sure his poetry is nice, but he sounds kind of dumb in that conversation

Haven't listed to the clip yet, but I will say this: poetry is art, and as such calls for a much different thought process than that required for a structured debate.

The OP apparently has some sort of rant / specific point of view in mind which I think he should go ahead and spell out himself.

There's nothing in the talk in itself that made Ginsberg seem unintelligent or unthoughtful to me, quite the opposite... I don't agree with his position in totality, and find myself agreeing with his father in points, but that's neither here nor there.
