I thought 2005 was the year that all TV sets were no longer using OTA signals?

I remember when I worked at best buy (circa ~1999), the big push was for TV's with built in HD, and I swear they said by 2005, normal OTA signals were going to be dead.

um, HDTV is just as much "over the air" as standard definition analog TV has always been.

I remember the brainwashing speech they told us...

"OTA signals will no longer be able to be handled by a regular TV set. It either requires an HD-TV or an HD converter box. Regardless, without either of those two, all TV's will be paperweights".
