Mike seems to be keeping tabs on me. To wit:

On 10/24, I increased output from 62 to 67. Mike went from 72 to 76.

On 10/25, my output dropped back to 66, and Mike dropped back to 72.

On 10/26, I jumped up to 72, and Mike boosted his output to 97 (just to make me look bad, I think).

On 10/27, I dropped back to 67 again, and you-know-who cut back to 73, just to make it look like a race 😛

Today, I had another relatively good day, and put out 70 WU's, and Mike raised me an equal number, jumping from 73 to 76.

It seems like ever since he passed me, he just doesn't want to give up any ground. It's almost like some devious plot to assimilate me or something...

Assimilation is so passe, though. Agents have a much better method, they just cut to the chase. And it's nice to be an Agent of this system. :evil:

While I admit I am keeping tabs on you (you are my best competition and I hate to lose)
I am nowhere near that competent nor do I have the time to be.

O will admit I am a statsaholic and I check my machines often but only after you hit 101 workunits that day did I utter an "OH SH@T" 😀

I had to get my server up and running just to hiold you off 😛

If I am not out producing you by 6-8 workunits then I check my machines and usually one has lost internet, but its not by my doing that, that I stay just ahead lol.

I think it's all in your head 😉


every other day my server is able to produce 4 extra workunits, Which accounts for my mysterious crunching extra wu's lol

Btw my server produced 4 wu's while writing this little note...better check the stats 😛

Seriously though, it is fun. If you're at all like me (and I have somewhat of a hunch you are) there's not a whole heck of a lot you can do on a daily basis anyway, other than make sure the crunchers around you are actually up and running without anyone trying to do you any favors like turning them off over the weekend! I'll tell you, thunderstorms in the summer are my worst enemy, especially with the lousey power situation at work. I think flash-bulbs cause power spikes in Felton, DE, but lack the evidence to actually back that up.

Actually, although it would be nice to end up ahead of you, I think my new Xeon servers came in a bit too late. I'm just looking for round number goals at this point. Moving from 17 to 15 in my class. Maybe hitting 10K (though that's a stretch, if some of the rumors are true). 48,546th palce is nice, but breaking the 40,000 mark would be nice. Realistic goals that are achievable are great motivators, as long as they're not too easy 🙂

Did you know that an "alterego" of mine crunches SETI classic ... now moving to BOINC ... the FaD hordes are not the only hordes in "play" ... I continue to participate in multiple projects even though FaD is the only "public" project that I can be identified in.

Well, at least until seti-classic ends. Then it will be a new thing with BOINC. :Q

But I do not believe in the mid-November end: didn't they say that seti-classic would end issuing WUs about a month before they shut down? Or was it two weeks? We have to finish our WUs! OTOH, we are - AFAIK - recrunching WUs already done ... 😛
