I think our current off-topic forum, while very good, is a little to strict for a true off-topic forums. Most things that are seen as neffing would pass for usual offtopic threads on most boards. I feel the off-topic should be like a watercooler for people to discuss whats on tv, crack jokes, etc etc.

Then have a on-topic forum for when you want to make a serious courteous discussion about something i.e. religion, news etc.

This system seems to work well on other boards, just wandering if AT has ever considered this?

I thought Politics and News was the "on-topic" forum.

Politics and news is to confined to be an on-topic forums, what if you want serious discussions with religion, cars, school etc.

It should be deleted and replaced with an On-topic forum IMHO.

That's way too much info to moderate - the mods would have to read every post to see if it falls within the guidelines. A serious discussion over Christianity could turn into a simple flamefest by just one person saying "Muslims rule all" or some stupid sh!t like that. It inevitably happens. The nature of AT and the age and maturity of it's users prohibits that from ever happening.

In the words of the mods, "It's not gonna happen"

Exactly. This is a much busier forum than most. 123423 members currently. (ooh, cool. Soon it'll be 123456.) If chronic neffing, etc weren't a bannable offense, that'd probably be more like 1,342,234,235,123,583 members.
