So I've always been very organized with the PCs. Had a seperate system for each specific function. File server, workhorse(downloading, TS server, CD/DVD burning, encoding, etc.), gaming machine, and the laptop. I ended up scrapping the software RAID on the file server, dumping the harddrives into the "workhorse", and just mirroring drives manually. That got me down to two PCs and the laptop.
I always wanted to keep everything that wasn't gaming related off the gaming machine so it didn't get gummed up and bogged down with a bunch of crap. However, after lots of testing with VMWare Server(the freebie), I think I'm ready to make the workhorse virtual, and dump the extra PC. Only one PC to keep updated and stuff. Keeping all the other junk on the VMWare machine should keep the main OS clutter free.
Anyone else try anything similar?
