That's actually what I was wondering - it doesn't give a weight anywhere in the article. I guess it's hard to believe that someone could be unaware of the fact that they're pregnant unless a few extra pounds would normally go unnoticed.

Some women don't miss their period when they are pregnant. I have a friend who was just starting to show before she and her husband realized that they were expecting their second child.
