I drive a pre-owned 2004 Acura TL. I bought it from local guy.
I got two recall notices from Acura over the weekend.
So I call my local Acura dealer, they said to bring it in, it's a full-day job.
I can't miss a day of work for this, so I aske them if I could get a loaner.
She said they normally only give loaners to people who bought or lease from them.

That is BS. Acura messed up, it should be fixed without any inconvenience to me.
There is no reason I should have to rent a car or miss work.

UPDATE: They called me back and said they would provide a loaner since it's a recall.

This.

Everyone is a future sale - be sure to remind them of that.

If it's only for 1 day can't you just find a friend/family to help transport you or take the shuttle service I'm assuming they offer, or is this just about the principle?

My commute is 64 miles each way.

I thought acura was one of those 'luxury' brands that their dealerships give out loaners for repair work

How odd, my Honda dealership will give me a loaner when I drop off my Accord for an oil change if they have one.

They do. They gave my fiancee another TSX as a loaner when she took in her car for service.

get a kia next time like me. i get a loaner if need be.

too bad u spend all that money on FINE AUTOMOBILES and get same crapasses BS as everywhere else. Soon as you drive off the lot...you are now scum of the earth to them. Warranties are only good if you keep your services through OEM at super jacked up prices. Auto tranny flush and filter/ coolant flush and replace is 300 bux at my kia dealership. must do it or no go on the warranty. Good lord..what can go wrong with coolant at 30xxx miles.

Incorrect. By law they can not deny you warranty service if you get the car fixed/tuned up at a certified shop and have the documentation.

Spoiled.

Excuse me?
THEY messed up. Not me. I should not be inconvenienced by their screw-up.

Sorry that was more of a geralization to the entire thread. I don't know of any dealership here that lends cars out for just a day. Maybe a week for body work, but never just a day. Then again I live in podunk South Dakota.

Doubtful, they probably had to ship the keys off to get them reprogrammed after the battery goes out.
