I think this browser has been hijacked

Many pages partially load then suddenly the "cannot load page" message pops up.

Would reinstalling IE6 fix this?

btw, its IE6 or no dice as it is my parent PC and they couldn't deal with a browser change

I have spybot/adaware/hijackthis/CWshredder/msconfig/Norton antivirus'd this thing to death today...

Do you have a JRE installed? Maybe download the one from sun.com.

some pages. Occasionally - off topic won't load :Q hotmail is done, random other pages - and not all pages on a site won't load....

as far as troubleshooting, I kind of outlined that in my post...

delete all urls in your hosts file other than 127.0.0.1
