I think they killed the PALADIN in WoW with the next patch.

I was hunter, quit after the "love" patch we got. Our DPS was supposed to get a significant boost (atleast in PvP), and several bugs flattened. Our DPS ended up going down for PvP and PvE, and no bugs were destroyed.

Are you kidding? Hunters are free dps with feign, they are often at or near the top of damage lists.

As for the op, you are not a dps class, you are a support class. Deal with it.

So wait a second. I roll up a druid and deal with all Blizzard's crap only to leave and now they are their favorite class? I feel like I'm getting ripped off if I don't start replaying.

right, it only took them almost a year to make druids into their favorite? they were blizzard's redheaded stepchild before then.

Rogues have been getting nerfed every patch since release, druids were strong to begin with, and are gods now. In PvE that is, I don't care about PvP.

while rogues were gods in pvp and pve from the beginning, right?

Gods of PvE? Rogues don't have 7500+ armor at the push of a button, nor are they able to heal... Rogues were almost well-balanced for PvE, that's about as close as the class came. Now warriors can outdamage them. The problem is PvP is a dps game. To have balance in it, which is patently impossible yet being doggedly attempted by Blizzard regardless, they've made the dps spread between the classes far smaller. Unfortunately dps is the defining characteristic of the rogue class in RPGs, and all it has in WoW.

which is why lots of gold farmers use rogues right? rogues are one of the classes everyone says are good for soloing. soloing = pve.
high damage, stuns, vanish, yeah, not good for pve my ass

Paladins will be JUST FINE. jeez its the one class that is god-mode when mixed with any other class, especially warrior, where the other person doesn't even have to be over lvl 30 to become some damned unstoppable dynamic duo. Rogue sux in PvE btw... lvl 60 rogue on shadow moon here... and I can't get into a high level raid to save my life. By luck of the heavens I do... outrolled by druids for gear. Although... in PvP in CT I take my pain and sorrow out on nooblet alliance so it all evens out I guess >)

not being able to get into a high level group is not the same as being good at pve

at lvl 60 eviscerate sux... and a pve build is a completely gimped pvp talent build... and not being able to get into a high level group = no good loot = pvp gained equipment = no good pve equipment. again... once you hit 60 rogue pve is lackluster unless you like countless hours of pickpocketing.

You realize there are things called "groups" and "raids", right? Regardless, rogues became the favored choice among farmers before all the nerfs.

I believe hunter is now the farmers favored class.

Appropriately-specced Hunters consistantly sit at the top of the Damage Meters. The *only* time I'm out-DPS'ed in an instance run is when I have to do an extraordinary amount of utility work (CC, aggro-management, etc) or when we have one of our guild's skilled rogues doing balls-to-the-wall DPS.

*Cue the screenshot of the rogue weilding thunderfury and owning the fvck out of his entire guild in DPS*

Think it was nurfed or some other top teir guild.

Dunno, but that screenshot was hillarious and I can't find it. There wasn't a single person near him on the DPS meter. It was released right around the time every rogue was bitching that they suck at PvE in raids and shut most of them up.

It's not that a rogue can't get in a high level group, it's just that they already have too many damn rogues and need a Priest/Druid as healers or someone with better armor.. ie. warrior ;)

I saw the screen. We shouldn't require a weapon of that caliber to do our job - dps - in groups & raids.

I think they also nerfed the immunity shields. I'm pretty sure they put them all on the same timer so if you use one of your shields you can't use any of your shields for 5 minutes.

Note that the other rogues are being beaten by warriors & hunters... plate tanks and mail wearing ranged dps who have pets and great CC. The price we pay for what burst damage can do in PvP :(

Yah and WoW isn't a game that is about the MC pickup groups either. If you are in a large MC'capable guild and are a rouge and not a best friend of the leaders then you are stuck at the back of a long list. Even then you can be outrolled by druids who are more frequent on raids since they usually spec to healing while trying to out-bid rogues for MC. Thus, rogues miss out of a lot of content after lvl 52.
