A frienbd asked me to look at her computer, the monitor wouldn't come on, so she brought it to me (gee what a friend I am) anways, it boots up fine but no display, so I switched video cards still nothing, I'm trying to find a pci card to try but I've never had jsut one slot die on me.

I don't want to tell her it's time for a new pc

any suggestions?

I found an old pci vid card and put that in there but no luck, then AI was wondering if I needed to do something in the bios to set up a pci card but I can't get video on the screen :(

No, only to set which one gets initialized first. Since you only have the PCI card in, there should be no problem.

This does not sound good. You are sure the computer boots, right?

The initial POST uses the BIOS to display, whereas Windows I think goes around the BIOS.
I think you may not be far off with your guess of a bad mobo.
