This is complete BS...

Im home for the summer from school so my billing and shipping addresses dont match, therefore their address verification wouldnt accept my card. Thats fine, ive had this problem with them before. After 5 calls to Newegg, 2 to my bank (who ALREADY had both addresses on file mind you before any of this started), and 2 days, we FINALLY got the freakin order processed. My order (which was slated for Overnight & Rush delivery) for a customer is stuck "Your order is at step 3 of 5: being prepared for shipping." and has been all day. When i called right before they closed tonight, they couldnt tell me the status of my order because "she didnt know."

The system i was supposed to have finished by tonight, is now still sitting 4000 miles away in california in 30 pieces. Im sorry, but i think this will be the last time im ordering from newegg. If this was a fluke, i would understand. But this crap has been happening all too often with them lately for me, looks like i need to find a new parts dealer.

first you bag on dell for delaying your camera a few weeks

then you bag on usps/ups/fedex (you did right?) for taking a few extra weeks to deliver your package

now this?

No, this is nothing like Jerboy. If this was Jerboy, we wouldn't only hear about this problem.

We'd also get the inside look on the nasty stuff his mom cooked him today.

We'd get a synopsis of his current relational issues with his boyfriend.

We'd hear all about how his vaccuum cleaner doesn't pick up enough dust.

We'd hear him complain about how the lack of rain is causing the daisies to droop slightly.

I'll allow the rant, aphex. Might be a little overreacting, but I'm not going to equate this to a Jerbism. ;)

I just HATE having to explain to a customer why their computer isnt ready on time.

you can't blame them for covering their ass. It has to be personally approved by someone when addresses dont match up

I would not rag on them too bad, I can understand not allowing the order to proceed if both address are not the same (even if the bank has both on file, newegg looks for the primary address) As for the rush shipping... dunno about that. I have ordered from them a couple of dozen times and every time, I mean EVERY time, they process and ship my order within 24 hours, even though I have never chosen "rush". I have also never waited more than 3 days to recieve my shipment. this could be because I am in Seattle and seattle is not that far from california (5 hour plane flight) but I still think they are the best online retailer... period. I think this was a fluke.

Good luck getting those parts and building that computer

The address verification was complete by Wed evening EST while newegg was still open. Its now friday and my supposedly 'RUSH' order is still sitting in california...

hence why I use a distributer, and local wholesalers.

well, that's why you open up everything up buy before you pay to make sure it's brand new and not a return... :p follow that rule, and dont buy fry's memory, and you should practically have no problems at all.. :)

Newegg doesn't post the tracking #s for their shipments until 6 PM PST so wait until then. Chances are your packages shipped this morning but they won't update their tracking #s till tonight and then you'll notice they're almost halfway to Seattle.

I have been ordering from Newegg for a long time and I have never had a problem. They even had good turnaround time on the two RMAs I have had to do.

If you know that it is going to be a problem with the fact that you have different billing/shipping addresses, then why subject yourself to these problems? Find someone local or find an online retailer that isn't going to give you grief everytime you order from them.

That is a problem.

I have made several expensive orders through them with my Amex recently. It has a seperate billing address, but my shipping address is registered as well.

I do the next day FedEx Express with rush everytime and I have always received the order the very next day.

Odd, sorry about your situation, but I've ordered from NewEgg twice, shipping to a different location, and going through that process of theirs didn't take any longer than maybe an additional day, and the packages all went where they were intended to, in a rather timely matter too.

:(
