Yes I know that source is a blog and a left-leaning one at that. Doesn't discount that the ad is about as bad as you can get.

Republican candidate for State Assembly in CA (Bill Conrad) is claiming that, among other things, that the incumbant will probably DIE before he can serve his full term because of a heart transplant that he had and the run off election will cost the taxpayers money.

Link to story and pics of actual ad

The dems said the same about Reagan.
Hell they said it about Cheney.

It may be low but it is a valid argument to bring up. If a guy is likely to die are you voting for him or the guy who replaces him on his death?

As for the ad, it is actually kind of comical I guess, probably distatseful for the left.

I don't remember hearing that kind of smear against Reagan. He was old and possibly senile but who was actually claiming he was going to die soon? Point of fact . . . he was old and well on his way to becoming senile. Reagan wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed in the late 80s.

As for Cheney, the Sith Lord may be old but there's power in the Dark Side . . .

I ROFL @ this. It was in my morning paper. These nimrods are in MY district...One was a city councilman reputed to be bought & paid for by the real estate lobby, the other is a rich farmer, with a family history of "republicanism"...
You gotta love it when members of the same party keep digging up dirt on each other, which will no doubt, be used by the OTHER party after the primaries...

isn't that what everyone does at these moronic political infomercials. they dig up the stupidest sh!t about someone, then get an actor to spew it all out in a "mean" or "scary" voice hoping to scare the public into not voting for said political hopeful.

[scary]"bob smith once ate a french fry off of the floor after the five second rule passed. if he doesn't care about his own health, how can you expect him to care about yours?" [/scary]
