I think that monitor manufacturers should be making taller monitors that show a full 8 1/2x11 page side by side with 4k uhd glory

I am in the market to build a new computer. What I want is 4k uhd that will show 2 word pages side by side. Give me an option for G-sync or free-sync. I recently purchased a new Sony 4k UHD TV and it is spectacular! I wonder why more monitor options for 4k UHD with brightness and true color aren't being built in a form factor that would have more vertical dimension and enough width to display 2 full sheets of paper side by side.

All kidding aside, a pair of 2560x1440 displays in portrait mode is legendary for document work. I have several attorneys with this configuration. Three 1440p displays, one portrait on each side, and one landscape in the center.

Any 27” or larger 16:9 monitor can display a pair of letter-sized sheets side by side. No need for a special monitor.

Also, you don’t need variable refresh rate for word processing.

I don't know what they're wanting the adaptive sync stuff for, I figure it'd either be to lower the refresh rate to use less power or have it higher to reduce eyestrain.

Which I'd think e-ink would be good for the OP's use. I wonder if there are any e-ink monitors? I think they could find a use for ones that can 1:1 certain paper styles. And many of those markets would probably have the capital that even when expensive it'd still sell (lawyers for instance).

Using a 2560x1440p in portrait mode for document and forum browsing...
Once u try it, its really hard to go back to landscape on all your monitors, unless you dont do any document or pdf reading.

And why would you need G-sync for a document reader monitor?
That makes no sense, your not going to game on it, if you are going to game, then there is no way u can make me step down from my ultra wide 3440x1440, unless its a 4k ultra wide or this:
