I think people are selling fake home depot coupons. I just bought some from an ebay seller and he had over a 1000 starts but the coupons he gave me looked like it was from an inkjet printer. what gives and what is going one here. does anyone else ever had a similar experience. is this common practice on ebay?

thanks

They're probably fake.

I had a legitimate coupon in my possession for one reason or another, and it did not look like it was some shoddy inkjey work.

Probably a coupon sent out in an email or one you can get at Fatwallet

The eBay coupons are actually 20% off employee only coupons. They were given out as a holiday gift from the company.

Clocker, all the HD coupons I have used in the past have the T&C either printed in the front or the back of the "physical" coupon; w/ out that I'd stay away IMO 🙂

Selling coupons? Wow. I never thought it would happen, although when I was little I had dreams of getting 5 million coupons because on the coupon in small print was "Coupon value = 1/100th of a cent". I would be filthy rich!

The eBay 20% coupons are fakes of the employee discount coupons.

Maybe your home depot sucks, and doesn't let you use them. It's possible since many other people have gotten them to work.

They suck because they don't let people use copies of coupons that were only intended for employees, and specifically said on the coupon they should not be duplicated?

i emailed the seller yesterday but i did not receive a response yet hopefully i can get a response by the end of this week

Could be that they were originals, I know that most of the employees at our store simply threw theirs away. Wonderful Christmas bonus from a company that rakes in billions a year, and pays the CEO/Chairman/President millions a year. 20% off up to $200, woohoo!

Yes the coupons are copies, not sure why they havent been busted for fraud yet. Some times they work, sometimes they dont.

I bought some but did not use them since they were copies.

I dont think selling fake coupons is a good thing. I am filling a dispute with paypal. Also, hopefully the seller did not mean to sell these coupons intentionally.

You can get them for free here.

I make up email accounts on yahoo or hotmail and get as many as I need. Never had a problem with home depot accepting them. I have rental property and a have saved some cash on appliances and other remodel projects. I think the limit is $10,000 purchase.

Same deal from Lowe's can be found here

Same thing with different email addresses will work.
