I think my Zip 100 is dying. What to get?

This morning my Iomega internal IDE Zip 100 MB drive started making the infamous Click of Death with both the disks I used. I read in an Iomega newsgroup a few years ago that this means:

1. Throw those disks away.
2. Your zip drive is about to fail.

Verdict (I assume):

I need a new zip drive.

What's the one to get? I see NEC has a zipdrive. Do they have more than one (250, 100, ?).

What's the best kind to get and why?

Thanks!!

Dan

Forgot...

In case it helps, here's what my new system should look like when I'm through building it (I'm knee deep in the process right now... the dying zip 100 is in my old system, and I was planing to move it over, but now I think I need a new one).

I think other companies (NEC) can only produce the Zip100 drives right now. Iomega is holding out on the licensing for the Zip250 drives still. I would get a non-Iomega one because they are cheaper, but that's just me...

I agree with Nelson, if you are going to get the 100 mb version get the NEC... I had one for a while until I traded it, it worked fine...

<< One more vote for the NEC. I've have one for years without a problem. You can pick one up for $35 at newegg.

Well, too late. I ordered a 250 from cnetpc.com - $63 + $10 shipping. But I think I'll want a 100 for my other box and will get the NEC. Thanks.
