Ok, for goodness sake, we like in west LA and at night its like 60 degrees out (like 85 during the day). She had a demanding job and works until like 1 or 2 am. But I have the living room patio window open and my room's patio window open and by the time its evening, its very cool in the house. But each morning when I wake up, the frickin air conditioner is on, and all the windows are still open. I told her before that I don't mind running it if she's uncomfortable at night, but I don't want it running needlessly because it runs up our bill. She's doing it on purpose, she has to be. How else can anyone be so annoying about it?

Thats actually a really good idea. Might do that. I know it comes on rarely because its set to 74 and the temp is taken from the living room, where all the windows are still open. It's her imagination that its cooling down, except it does come on from time to time. One of these times she's gonna turn the temp lower because she can't hear it running.

Is that a digital thermostat? If its like the one I have at my home, you can set it to change temperatures of the house based on time of day and what day it is. You can probably set it to switch back to 70 or whatever at 2 or 3AM and then back to the temp she keeps it like an hour before she wakes up if you're out of the house by then.

tape off all the vents except for the one in her room. When she wakes up and it is 40 degrees in her room she might rethink it.
