I think my RAM is dead

I just received my new stick of RAM (1 gig). I installed it in my computer and the computer wouldn't start properly. It kept trying to restart itself and then shut itself down again. Is my RAM DOA?

Assuming it worked fine prior to installing it (i.e. with your old RAM in it) , I'd say that's pretty likely.
