So last night before bed, my PC is making some odd noise. A difficult to describe noise but it almost sounds like something is interfering with the rotation of a small fan or that its wobbling slightly.
Process of elimination:
I turned off my intake fan - Did not solve it.
I turned off my CPU fan - Did not solve it.
I turned off my Exhaust fan - Did not solve it.
I turned off my GPU fans - Did not solve it.
So I got myself vexed. I shut down my PC and unplugged the next moving parts I could think of. I unplugged my HDD and Optical Drive to assess them and still this noise persists.
The only thing I can think of which could possibly make this noise is the PSU. I have a Seasonic S12 600W PSU which I purchased I believe to be approximately 2 years ago.
What I am looking for with this post is:
Can anyone suggest what else it may be?
How can I test to see if its my PSU fan that is making the noise without some scary "open the PSU lid" method?
If it is my PSU fan going.... How good are Seasonic with returns?
