I think my parent's house has thin walls.

I was trying to sleep at 2am last night and I remember hearing my neighbor yapping away on his cell phone. It didn't sound like he was yelling or anything, and its been going on every time I sleep here. My TV makes those weird noises (the kind you hear if you put an active cell phone to it), but no one is making an active call, other than my neighbor. There's wall pounding every once in a while too, and it scares the crap out of me when I'm REMing and I suddenly wake up. I told my mom about it and she doesn't really seem to care, but I think its pretty bad. It feels like someone is actually hitting the wall from my side.

How much would it cost to get walls thickened? Is it possible to just open up our current wall and add concrete or something?

i dunno about adding concrete but what about a layer of foam?

I don't think it'll do anything...I actually just felt the pounding on the wall and the wall just rumbles.

There probably isn't much you can do..

You could have foam put in the walls.. It would indeed help, quite possibly a lot if there is nothing or very little in there..

But it's going to cost. Anything you do will.

No idea. Give me a hammer and some nails. I'll end up breaking something before fixing it.
