A friend of my wanted to try his new CPU on my computer because his it would not work with his (he bought the same CPU as me, AMD athlon xp 1600). We then found out that his CPU was faulty. After installing my CPU back into my into my system, I connected everything and turned it on. Then, the problems begin. First, my monitor wasn't receiving a signal from my video card. First I thought something was wrong with the monitor, but I tried it with my friend's computer and it works. Then I tried his video card on my system and it still would not work. Then I noticed that my CDRW drive kept on reading every few seconds (there is no CD in the drive). I have a ECS K7S5A motherboard. Please help!

Thanks.

Try resetting the CMOS by using the jumper located near the CMOS battery. Simply remove the jumper and move it over 1 pin. Then remove the jumper and put it back in its original location.
