What do you mean by develop a backlight? Do you mean that when the screen should be completely black you can actually see the backlight around the edges?

I suppose your screen could develop backlight bleeding. It can develop stuck/dead pixels over time, but usually these things are there off the bat...like with my PSP screen...both problems :p

Hmm, I wouldn't think so. Perhaps if you had burned in white to your LCD in certain places. You could try leaving it off for 48 hours straight and see if the burn-in disappears. Otherwise something must have gotten dislodged. Turned up the brightness/contrast lately?

its the video forum. dont expect much more than what was displayed in this thread.

i doubt it is possible to develop a bleed since the nature of the crystals is not to degrade in that short of a timespan. you may be starting to notice it and now that you know it is there, it has become more prevalent.

just so you know, all LCDs bleed some because the opacity of the crystals is never 100%. you will never get one that is completely free of some bleeding, and to be honest it really doesnt bother me at all. i have 2 2405s and 2 2005s, and they all have a tiny tiny bit but it is completely invisible once you display a screen other than all black.

LCD image persistance can be corrected with some simple programs that flash several, bright colors to the screen sequentially. turning it off wont fix the issue of the crystal developing memory in a lot of cases.
