I think my hard drive died.

It's my laptop hdd... now it goes clickety click and BIOS tells me theres a disk error. Has anyone been able to recover from something like this?

Decisions decisions. The laptop is a 700MHz ultraportable, and I've been itching for a new one. Problem is, I don't see much on the market that interests me. I'd like an ultraportable Macbook Pro, but that doesn't exist. (I want to tinker with Apples, but don't want my main machine to be Apple based.)

I figure a laptop that piques my interest might be released after the Vista launch, so I don't know that I should spend any money restoring a laptop that I plan on ditching in a couple of months anyway...
